自20xx年12月起，大學英語四六級考試將以嶄新的形式與大家見面。試卷中將取消完形填空，同時出現三種新題型，并增加了翻譯考試的分值。不少考生認為考試的難度有所增加。對此，有關輔導專家建議，考生在備考時要提前熟悉題型，打好基礎，并有針對性地積累知識、訓練解題技巧。
根據全國大學英語四六級考試委員會做出的說明，調整后的試卷取消了完形填空題，出現了單詞及詞組聽寫、長篇閱讀、段落翻譯三種新題型。
聽力理解部分，原復合式聽寫調整為單詞及詞組聽寫，短文長度及難度不變，要求考生在聽懂短文的基礎上，用所聽到的原文填寫空缺的單詞或詞組，共10題。短文播放三遍。
閱讀理解部分新增長篇閱讀。原快速閱讀理解調整為長篇閱讀理解， 篇章長度和難度不變。 篇章后附有10個句子，每句一題。每句所含的信息出自 篇章的某一段落，要求考生找出與每句所含信息相匹配的段落。有的段落可能對應兩題，有的段落可能不對應任何一題。
而在翻譯部分，原單句漢譯英調整為段落漢譯英，分值由原來的5分提高到15分。翻譯內容涉及中國的歷史、文化、經濟、社會發展等。四級長度為140-160個漢字，六級長度為180-200個漢字。
此次調整，考試委員會還公布了四六級樣卷各一套。很多人看了改革方案及樣卷后，就發現此次試卷的考查方式與雅思接近，在內容上對考生的能力要求也更高。
改革之前，四六級寫作話題簡單、寫作字數要求少，有時也會給出提綱。難度最多相當于雅思的Task1和研考小作文水平，略高于高考英語寫作。改革之后，四級樣題中出現了圖畫式作文，給出的漫畫說明也是英文的。寫作既要求描述圖畫，還要給出觀點。
從樣卷看，四六級考試調整后雖然取消了完形填空，但整體難度有所增加，尤其是翻譯部分，其次是閱讀和聽力。整體更注重考查考生的積累和應用能力。對考生最大挑戰依然是時間控制，尤其是閱讀部分。
從樣卷看，聽力新題型單詞及詞組聽寫，兩張試卷并沒有明顯的難度界限，四級出現了比較難的詞，而六級也出現了比較老且原始的詞匯。如果考生長期忽視聽寫和拼寫必然會導致失分率的增加。因此，在每次做完聽力題目之后，考生要盡量保證題目選項和對應原文中全部單詞短語會拼寫。
長篇閱讀像雅思閱讀中的“段落信息匹配題”。在詞匯基礎基本保證的情況下，考生要掌握一些閱讀技巧。比如，特殊信號詞匯在段落和題目中的對應，例如數字、大寫、特殊符號;段落首句作為重點信息處理;特別關注段落銜接句等。當然，大量訓練不可少。

Appetite
One of the major pleasures in life is appetite, and one of our major duties should be to preserve it. True, the first bite was delicious, but once the toffee was gone one was left with nothing, neither toffee nor lust. Besides, the whole toffeeness of toffees was imperceptibly diminished by the gross act of having eating it. No, the best was in wanting it, in sitting and looking at it, when one tasted an endless treasure house of flavors. So, for me, one of the keenest pleasures of appetite remains in the wanting, not the satisfaction. In wanting a peach, or a whisky, or a particular texture or sound, or to be with a particular friend, for in those condition, of course, I know that the object of desire is always at its most flawlessly perfect. For that matter, I don’t want three square meals a day — I want one huge, delicious, orgiastic, table groaning blow out, say every four days, and then not be too sure where the next one is coming from. A day of fasting is not for me just a device for denying oneself a pleasure, but rather a way of anticipating a rarer moment of supreme enjoyment.
